Government-authorised scrap centre RVSF
Best if you're buying a new vehicle and want the official tax rebate.
- Issues an official Certificate of Deposit — worth up to ~25% road-tax rebate and a registration-fee waiver on your next vehicle.
- Many manufacturers add a discount (often ~5%) on top.
- The centre handles deregistration with the RTO for you.
- You still get paid the scrap value of the metal — typically a touch lower than a kerbside dealer in exchange for the certificate.
- Best for end-of-life vehicles (15+ years for private, 8–10 for many commercial).
Not sure? If your vehicle is healthy and you're not buying a new one immediately, a regular dealer is usually simpler. If you're upgrading and the vehicle is overage, the Certificate of Deposit is worth thousands — go to a government-authorised centre.

Yes — under India's Vehicle Scrappage Policy (2021), scrapping at a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) gives a Certificate of Deposit worth up to ~25% road-tax rebate on a new vehicle, plus registration-fee waivers. Several states add their own incentives.
